3 Recent Beauty Buys

Today I just wanted to share a few of the latest beauty bits that I’ve picked up! I’ve kept it down to 3 for this post, so I can really talk about them. You’ll notice this is different to a ‘haul’ because I tend to have tried some of these bits already and gotten them started, so I can give a little bit of initial feedback on the product. Sometimes I just find a post like this is a good ‘one stop shop’ method, so it saves having a haul, try-on AND then a review. It’s just like an all-in-one post, enjoy these little Autumnal pick-me-ups!

Rimmel 60 Seconds Super Shine Nail Polish in ‘335 Gimme Some of That’, £2.99: I’ve been enjoying the Rimmel formula for a few months now and have been really enjoying it. I’ve found that sometimes the lasting power on it can be great, usually get about 5 days out of them at a time. This one, as you can see in the picture has gotten a few small chips within only 2 days though. The shade is really lovely though, its a deep sophisticated pink that almost looks red in some lights though. It’s a really good one for Autumn and I have a feeling I’ll be reaching for this one a lot!

Revolution Conceal and Define Supersize Concealer in ‘C2’, £7.00: I’ve been using my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer for months non-stop, so I felt like I wanted a change. I have tried this concealer before, but then never got round to re-purchasing it. Unfortunately, I had to settle for the supersize one… which is MASSIVE! I don’t know if they’re still doing the regular sized one, but this one is almost like a foundation stick. I found it harder to shade match me this time, there are literally so so many to choose from even in the pale section- which is a good thing really. I’m looking forward to having a bit of a change up and using this one again.

OGX Purifying and Charcoal Detox Shampoo, £6.99: OGX is a brand that I’ve very recently begun dabbling in and I’m really impressed so far. I like to alternate with my shampoos, so this one and the coconut curls one are the ones I’m currently using. The charcoal one is set to give your head a real deep clean out of any product build up and general dirt. I love a good deep cleaning shampoo, especially as I use serums, so there can often get a build up if not cleansed properly. Love the packaging of these and they’re so big, it will take me a while to finish them off- I usually try and find them on offer too when I can!

3 Frizz Fighting Tips

Today I thought I would share a little bit about fighting frizzy hair! With summer practically here, I felt this was a good time to get ready to fight the humidity… which makes me look very much like Monica from Friends on holiday- not ideal. Just the standard, and VERY obvious, disclaimer: I don’t have all the answers, I am not an expert and this comes from my own experience of coping with hair that is prone to frizz. The battle for me is between frizz and curls. I want that ratio to be 95% curl ideally, but that is often not the case. The warmer weather impacts this ratio MASSIVELY, but these are some of the tips and things I focus on when trying to make my hair all luxurious, smooth and silky soft!

  1. CONDITIONER, CONDITIONER, CONDITIONER: Moisture is basically going to be your hairs best friend. You want to find a really, really rich conditioner that is going to give your hair the replenishment it needs. The amount of conditioner needed impacts the frizz to curl ratio massively. I need a pretty heavy duty conditioner, but it cannot be TOO heavy or it will drag out all my curls so its all greasy and flat… but if I go too dry I’m left with a frizzy mess. This is the dilemma. I don’t have the answer, although I am loving my current Umberto Gianni one, you just need to keep trying as many as possible until you find ‘the one’. A good conditioner is the basic starting point when it comes to fighting that frizz.

FullSizeRender.jpg-3

2. YOUR HAIR IS THIRSTY, GIVE IT DRINK: This step is about going beyond the conditioner, your hair needs more moisture than what conditioner alone can give. This is where you need to look for serums, jellys or in serious cases- go straight in for a good oil. Personally, oils are a little too much for me and can leave my curls feeling little crisp. There are lots of better ones out there though, for me a serum or jelly works best- I’ve spoken about a favourite of mine for over a year now I’ve pictured it above and discussed it more in my Frizz Fighting Saviour, so this one is worth a look! I also keep a travel spray bottle with water in to hand, it just is good to scrunch into the hair to calm the frizz and make it bound better with the hair as a whole.

3. WORK WITH YOUR HAIR: For SOOO long I was working against my hair and although  I am ‘frizz fighting’ with these tips, I also know that to get my hair to go how I want it to I have to understand what it needs. It doesn’t want the heat of straighteners to hair dryers- and a heat protectant is a must if I do. My hair copes better with frizz when I use leave in serums and lightly towel dry about 20% and then leave to dry naturally. I think that just trial and error is the best way to work out what irritates your hair and makes it explode. I also found that giving it a good brush before washing or when the conditioner is in makes a BIG difference. It gives it a good clean out- gross, but needed. AND, not washing my hair every day is a good way of training it to stay curly for longer between washes. I’m only on every other day, but when I can I push for 3 days. I would LOVE to train it to be longer tbh, but I just can’t deal with the grease. I find the more I touch it the more frizzy it goes- why does it have to be this way. It’s such a rollercoaster of a relationship when it comes to hair.

May Favourites 2019

I’m SOOO excited that May is coming to an end. It’s always a bit of a drag, especially with all the deadlines that I’ve been going through. I have still had the time to find some pretty good favourites this month… if anything I’ve been avoiding revision so much that I’ve been looking more for them haha! I cannot wait for June because I’m going to Disneyland Paris- if you LOVE Disney content or have a trip coming up soon then keep an eye as I’ll be posting about it quite a bit in the next few months! Until then, here are a few of my non-Disney faves, from beauty to a good Netflix recommendation!

Glossier Boy Brow in Clear, £14.00: It’s actually been a little while since I’ve given this product a shoutout, not that it really needs the promo. I have been using this throughout May and most of the year, but I do go through phases where I try other ones. This month its been a proper staple for me, especially when I’ve been a little ‘relaxed’ with plucking and shaping. I put this on and it looks like I’ve made more of an effort than I actually have which is exactly what I’m looking for in a beauty product! I get that it’s expensive, so it is a little splurge, but I really love the waxy formula and non-sticky feel which keeps my eyebrows in place all day!

Umberto Gianni Scrunching Jelly, £7.00: This month I’ve been trying quite a few new things, especial when it comes to hair care! I picked this up in my Drugstore Beauty Haul and have been LOVING using it. A scrunching jelly is something that I’ve been looking for for ages, its hard to find one that doesn’t crisp up your curls. It really does add definition and is great for in-between washes as it revitalises your hair without the need for washing. This has the same delicious ‘good looking man’ smell as the others in the range and I really enjoy using this product- I’m SO glad I found it!

FullSizeRender-2

The Good Place: This month I completely binge watched this series and I absolutely LOVED it. The episodes are only 20mins long so it is really easy to become involved and there are currently only 3 series- I cannot wait for season 4! I’m guessing you know the plot, it’s basically in the afterlife but it is much more complex than the premise makes it seem. I really enjoyed all the twists and turns, I really loved the characters too especially Michael, Eleanor and Jason Medosaaaa. It was a really great watch and made time absolutely FLY. It was SO good that I kind of wish I had slowed down because I literally downed it in a couple of days.

Avengers End Game: THIS WAS EVERYTHING. Technically, I saw this at the very end of April but I just wanted to share that I LOVE this film and just the whole Avengers cast. I feel extremely emotionally invested after all this time and this film was an almost perfect ending… I feel like its alright for spoilers now, right? I’m just going to miss Chris Evans, I didn’t think it was a ‘re-generational’ role. That’s all I’ll say. ANYWAY, I LOVE THIS FILM. I can’t wait to see it again. I’ve watched SO much Marvel recently and I just cannot get over this. 100% favourite film of the year so far. Cinematically it is honestly NEXT LEVEL. I’m struggling to get over it- head over to my Insta where I am still sharing things about this film on my stories regularly… I’m not ready to let go!

Beauty Product Empties

Today I thought I would share a few beauty products that I have finished up lately. It seems like everything tends to finish up at once, which means a Boots haul is looking likely! I am looking to change things up instead of just re-purchasing but I will discuss that more throughout. This kind of post should be helpful if you are on the hunt for some new products because if someone has completely used them up, then they can’t be THAT bad- so I always think you can get some good recommendations from reading these!

The Body Shop Vitamin E Night Cream, £14.00: I do actually love this product! I’m unsure whether I’ll get it again because I didn’t realise the price was actually so much. It does last a while though. It’s really nourishing and I love putting it on before bed because I feel like it really gets into the skin whilst you sleep. I would definitely like to try a similar kind of product to see how it compares. Considering I have oily, spot prone skin I think this works pretty well as I’m not exactly the ideal candidate for a heavier moisturiser!

The Body Shop Tea Tree Toner, £6.50: This has been a favourite of mine for a while and I’m not sure what number bottle this is, that I’ve gone through! This product is great if you’re looking for a toner and have oily, spot prone skin. I’m not the biggest fan of the scent but that cannot really be helped because it smells like tea tree… duh. For the price, I think this is a pretty great product and I think in the future I would probably re-purchase.

FullSizeRender

Glossier Solution, £19.00: I have such a rollercoaster relationship with this product. This is my second bottle of this that I have completed, so I do obviously like it but I don’t think it has that ‘wow’ factor that it claims. It is an exfoliating, toner all-in-one kind of product that I just use once a day in the evening. This might work better on other peoples skin, it definitely didn’t do any harm and caused a slight improvement but I just wouldn’t say it blew me away.

Umberto Gianni No More Frizz Curl Serum, £8.00: This is the main product that I know I will re-purchase! I absolutely LOVE this stuff. I stand by all the lovely things I said in my Frizz Fighting Saviour post when I first reviewed it. This product really lasts a long time as well, so it will keep you going for a couple of months. If you have curly hair, then this is your go-to gal for fighting that frizz!

March Favourites 2019

Another month to turn over on the calendar already! I’m actually re-using my 2018 calendar because One Direction did not release a new one for the first time since about 2011 and being the girl I am, I couldn’t let go. ANYWAY, after that bombshell that unfortunately is not fake news I can carry on with chatting you through some of the things that I have loved throughout March. Starting of, I just want to dedicate this post to the Jonas Brothers. Thank you for coming back, it’s made this month instantly better and it filled the boy band shaped hole in my life. Here’s hoping that 2019 continues to bring back the best of the boy bands, even if it’s just for a new calendar in 2020! I’m looking at you Harry, Liam, Louis, Niall AND ZAYN- yep, I’m not over it.

Glossier You Perfume: I have been LOVING this perfume for a while but throughout March, I’ve been reaching for it more and more. I absolutely LOVE the smell, it’s difficult to describe as I wouldn’t say its like anything I’ve smelt before. I would say its a sophisticated smell which given my intro is evidently something that I am not typically into. This makes me feel pretty classy when I’m wearing it and if you want to add a touch of class, I recommend ordering this.

Herbal Essences White Grapefruit and Mosa Mint Volume Shampoo: It’s been a while since I’ve tried anything new, in terms of hair products, and this one has not disappointed. I felt like I just needed something new from my shampoo and my hair was feeling a little tired. I really love the scent and packaging of this product which is always a great place to start. I don’t really need volume and I wouldn’t say this adds LOADS though but it does give a little bit of a lift to your hair. I would like to try more of this range in the future and its worth a try if you’re looking to change up your hair products!

FullSizeRender-1

Waitress the Musical: I was lucky enough to see this, this month and WOW. It was wonderful. Honestly, it was such an incredible production and Katharine McPhee as Jenna was AMAZING. I did listen to the soundtrack a little before I went, so already expected to be completely blown away and I really was. If you’re looking for a funny, moving new musical to see in the West End then this should really the one you go for! If you’re still not sold then the theatre ACTUALLY smells of pies. This is not a drill.

Coach Trip Road to Barcelona: Now this is a little bit of a niche recommendation for you, it’s not the typical show that everyone is talking about BUT I love it and have done for many years. The latest series finished this month and I feel very strongly that you need to catch up. Basically couples of people go on a European coach trip (obvs) and at the end of each day they vote off another couple. It has a yellow and red card system, to get people off the trip and then they are usually replaced at some point. There are always new people and the activities they do in the different cities are always fun to watch! The main reason this show has a special place in my heart is because of Brendan, the International Tour Guide, he is the absolute sweetest and he really makes the show. He copes really well with some of the REALLY annoying tourists. I don’t know if many people watch this show, it’s on E4, but it’s so easy to watch!

Why the Hairdressers is SO Stressful

OMG, I cannot be the only one who doesn’t enjoy the hairdressers. It’s just one BIG stress-sesh for me personally. I don’t want to disrespect my current hairdresser because she is a cutie and is actually the best one I’ve had in a lonnngggg time but the whole process is just not enjoyable. This is basically going to be me rambling about the different problems I encounter at the hairdressers…

BOOKING THE APPOINTMENT: After putting it off for months and realising that any longer your hair will be 80% Hagrid the trouble begins- you’ve got to book. The worst is when there is no online booking and you have to call someone up on the actual phone- I cannot talk on the phone, I’m terrible at it. It’s noisy on the phone and you’re trying to negotiate a time. It’s almost like they know your schedule already and are literally just picking times that you purposefully cannot do. This is already a mental drain.

DESCRIBING WHAT YOU WANT: Trying to convey what you want your hair to look like to a hairdresser is SO difficult. Why is it so hard? I feel like I do all the right things, I take the pictures from Pinterest and use the right terminology- yet the final look is never what I quite envisaged. UGH. I know not to expect miracles and I cannot expect to come out looking like Khloe Kardashian- absolute hair goals- but I’m wanting a little bit closer, like lets just really try this time. But, no.

FullSizeRender-2

HAIR WASH AND SMALL TALK: What are you supposed to do with your face when you have your hair washed? I don’t know if this was something I missed at school but I never know what to do. Should I shut my eyes, smile at people walking past or just stare somewhere? Hairdressing etiquette is something I have evidently missed out on, which makes the whole experience terrifying and filled with embarrassing moments now. Like having to wear your head in a towel wrap and with dripping wet flat hair, which when you’re used to big curly hair you feel like Phil Mitchell- exposed. The small-talk is something that we all have to endured which I can’t stand because you know they don’t really care and it’s just another person asking me what I’m going to do with my university degree… like, come on can we just stick to yes and no questions only please.

PRETENDING TO LIKE IT: You’ve made it to the end of what has been quite a traumatising ordeal and your hair resembles a poodle. You preferred it before and have been staring the mirror realising you’ve made many, many mistakes in life. Yet you are now smiling and forced to fake laugh whilst looking at the back of your head through a small mirror… I don’t feel the need for this extra step of humiliation. Like as if things weren’t bad enough, I can now confirm I look bad from every angle including behind- more great news.

I could go on but I think you get the idea by now. I’ve had this general dislike and fear surrounding the hairdressers for YEARS, I must have been traumatised quite young. Hopefully one day I’ll be one of those fancy ladies who loves the hairdressers, they get blowdrys once a week and actually feels comfortable enough to say yes when asked if they want a drink- like those people are hairdressing goals for me. I haven’t even got onto the dreaded having your hair coloured- that is a WHOLE other post. I’m hoping someone feels the same here!

January Favourites 2019

The LONGEST month of the year is finally done. Usually we all start these monthly favourites with the old ‘it’s gone by in a flash’ but I can safely say that is not the case with January. It’s a long’un and it didn’t budge. BUT, we have survived and lived to tell another month of all the things I’ve been loving! Instead of giving you an insight into the month, moaning about the cold and lying about keeping up with my New Years resolutions- lets just get into it.

Glossier Boy Brow in Clear, £14.00: I’ve got this back in my life as I re-purchased it in the Black Friday sales! Don’t get me wrong the price is still a little ridiculous for me but finding a discount code makes this SO worth it. I’ve been using it most days to give my brows a bit of staying power and it has a lovely waxy feel to it- not too wet. I’ve gone on about this LOADS, especially in my 4 Best Beauty Buys of 2018 post from last year!

Herbal Essences Bee Strong Shampoo: I’ve gone back to this shampoo after trialling some different one over the last couple of months. This is not a ground-breaking shampoo but I like coming back to it every couple of months, so it does something right! I LOVE the honey scent, that is honestly such a draw and you can often smell it once your hair is completely dry too. It really doesn’t make your hair too greasy, I even find sometimes I can go a little longer in- between washes when using this one! It’s a good, solid shampoo and I’ve been using it constantly throughout January as it isn’t too heavy and goes well with a curl-enhancing conditioner.

fullsizerender

Nails Inc Top Coat in Kensington Caviar: I got this for Christmas in a duo and have been LOVING using this. What a little gem! I hadn’t done a lot of research into it but I really wanted a good gel top coat for my nails and decided I had to start looking into the pricer brands. The Nails Inc colours are SOOOO gorgeous, I would love to give some of the actual coloured ones a go. This really helps my nail polish last longer and makes the application look better, more professional. Might do a full review on this duo, it comes with a  base coat, after a couple more months because it’s SO tough finding a good one- first world problem.

Call the Midwife: This show is a bright light on what can be pretty dark January Sunday’s. Oh this show is wonderful. It’s perfect and settling down to watch it with my Mum on a Sunday night in my pjs makes my week- then discussing it later on with my Nan. I love, love, love this and you simply MUST watch it if you have any kind of joy in your heart. I must admit it, I am worried about Sister Monica Joan and the episode she dies will probably be one of the most emotional TV shows EVER.

Hopefully you have enjoyed seeing a few of the different things I have been enjoying throughout the month! I know that monthly favourites aren’t everyones favourite thing and they are a little bit repetitive. Personally, I enjoy writing them as they give me the space to chat about things that don’t quite fit anywhere else- where else can I discuss my love for Cadbury’s Giant Chocolate Buttons? I do feel like  they’ve lost their authenticity a bit on YouTube as they are plagued by ads and products they only use for the month they’re paid for, but I’m hoping you can see here that I obviously am using these products consistently to become a favourite. I’m trying to stick to around 4 or 5 too and not restricting them to beauty every time either. I’ll be sticking with the 3 uploads a week, so would appreciate your support!

Here’s hoping February’s a good one!

Drugstore Beauty Haul

Today I just thought I would share a good ol’ drugstore beauty haul and by ‘drugstore’ I just mean Boots. Hauls are some of my favourite things to watch on YouTube, I find them a little different in blog form. So I might do a couple more to try and find a format that I enjoy and think works best- let me know what you think too! This isn’t the biggest haul to start of with but I just wanted to share some of these recent purchases and test out this style. It’s also mainly basics because these are things I picked up before my holiday but hopefully it will give you some ideas for your own shopping lists!

One of the first things I picked up was the Imperial Leather Love Hearts Shower Cream (£1.00)… I know we are starting with a BANG! Seriously though I absolutely LOVE these shower gels and the scents are delicious. I’ve previously tried some of the other flavours so I’m looking forward to giving this a go- it’s a very pretty lilac too which helps when making the groundbreaking decisions about which shower gel to use! A couple of other essentials I picked up were two completely new ones for me and I’m really looking forward to giving them a go. They are the Lee Stafford Here Come the Curls Shampoo and Conditioner (£6.99)– pictured below. Honestly I picked these up on a bit of a whim and I wouldn’t typically do that for these slightly more pricey hair products- especially when I literally go through conditioner so quickly. I haven’t really heard anything about these products but I’m really looking forward to giving this new stuff a try!

FullSizeRender-5

Keeping on the hair theme I also picked up a new one of my favourite hair serum, that does its best to tame my curly frizzy mane! It’s the Umberto Gianni Anti-Frizz Curl Serum (£8.00) and this is actually my second one. I’ve done an in-depth review of this in my Frizz Fighting Saviour post where I discuss how I use it and why I love it. I know you probably don’t really want to hear about the other basics I bought like hair grips, nail polish remover and blister plasters- it’s got to be Compeed. So I’ll finish off with the Maybelline SuperStay 7 Days Gel Nail Polish in Magenta Surge (£4.49). I’ve tried two other Maybelline polishes in the past and I really like them, they’re both quite neutral shades so it will be interesting seeing how the formula works with a brighter pink.

FullSizeRender.jpg-3

I really hope you have enjoyed reading this post and seeing some of the recent things I have picked up in Boots. I know they’re not the most exciting things ever but I think it’s nice seeing what people have picked up… just because I’m nosey. If you want to see my further thoughts on any of these products once I’ve used them then I will tend to write reviews or include them in my monthly favourites- so stick around if you want to see whether I’ve enjoyed using them!

Beauty Products: Empties

I used to really enjoy watching people’s product empties videos, so I thought I would give it a go in blog-form… I’m hoping it has the same appeal. One of the main reasons I enjoy this style is because if someone has taken the time to actually finish a product then you know that it is a good product and a worth a try. It can mean they have used the product consistently for potentially over a year, if it’s a big product. This is mainly skincare and body bits with just one make-up product, I barely seem to finish those except for the odd lipstick or concealer!

Glossier Boy Brow in Clear, £14.00: I’ve spoken about this A LOT since purchasing around February time and it has now run-out! I have been using it lots since I got it as I really enjoy the waxy formula that keeps your brows in place, making them look fuller too. I could tell I was getting to the end when the bristles on the brush were dry and it felt really stiff against my brows- it was a sad day. I would definitely repurchase this in the future as I do think it is worth the price and it lasted me many months!

Glossier Solution, £19.00: This product has had a lot of talk about it on the internet and this is actually the second one I have finished. After using it for most of this year, I am now taking a little break from it just to see how my skin reacts because I don’t know if this still works as well for my skin. I’ve heard that if you keep using the same products your skin can get used to them and they become ineffective, so I’m wondering if this has happened here. I still really love this product and, especially in the beginning, it worked well in eliminated spots and clearing my general complexion. I’ll probably leave it a few months until I repurchase but I would still recommend if you suffer with troubled skin as it is quite strong!

FullSizeRender-1

Umberto Giannini ‘No More Frizz’ Anti-Frizz Curl Serum, £8.00: Now this is the product that I have already re-purchased which is probably the biggest giveaway about how good a product is. I put about two pumps of this through the lengths of my hair and scrunch it in after washing and lightly towel drying. I’ll then simply go to sleep and when I wake up there is much less frizz than when I go without it. The curls are more defined and they last longer before turning into a frizzy mess. It is a slightly greasy texture, which I have been afraid of in the past with other products, but this doesn’t leave that crispy curl feeling so it’s definitely a win, win for me!

Imperial Leather Foamburst Marshmallow, £3.15: This shower gel made my July Favourites 2018 so you know this is a good one! I continued to love this throughout August until its bitter end. I thought this was a really unique shower product because of the mousse texture and the way it lathers, makes you feel really clean! Towards the end it stopped turning into mousse though and was just like a bit lumpy and an off pink colour, so that was less enjoyable. The scent was a real winner with this one though because it was so sweet and really lingered, it gave me Lush ‘Snow Fairy’ flashbacks. I really loved using this but I don’t think I will be repurchasing it as I do probably still prefer the usual gel formula!

Hopefully you have enjoyed reading this post and it has given you some inspiration for some potential new products in your beauty stash. It feels like all my products tend to finish around a similar time and although I have already shared the ones I will be re-purchasing, if you have any more suggestions or alternatives do let me know!

August Favourites 2018

Right, so summer is almost over for another year. August has felt like quite a long month, I think because the weather has taken a turn and for the last couple of weeks it feels like Autumn is already here. The summer as  a whole has gone quickly though and has been a really lovely one. I hope you have enjoyed the extra summer content, finishing up with this monthly favourites! As usual, there is a little bit of everything so I’m sure they’ll be something to give you a little bit of inspo. Enjoy!

Seventeen Bronze Shimmer Brick: I know I’ve mentioned this a few times and it can be difficult to hunt down sometimes BUT if you see it, grab it. Throughout August I have basically been using this, concealer and some brow gel and I’m done. This has been a bronze and highlighter duo for me, so it is perfect for summer! I love swirling the darker colours to give me some colour around my forehead and lightly on my cheeks and nose. Then using the lighter shades for the highlighting on the top of my non-existent cheekbones and under my eyebrows. This is a great product and I’ve been using it for YEARS, I can’t recommend it highly enough and am on the look out for it as I can’t find it online!

Phil Smith Curly Locks Conditioner, £3.50: This is a very specific product because, as far as I’m aware, you can only get this in Sainsburys! I REALLY love this conditioner but am not a fan of the shampoo as I find it a bit too heavy. This conditioner though is really great for curly hair because it fights frizz and hydrates curls which is what my hair is after. I have been using it for a while, then I stopped using it for a bit, and then in August I decided to start using it again. It has been great for the summer when my curls have been a little dried out from the sun. I find the scent not too over-powering and this is definitely one of my favourite conditioners for curly hair, I would never have really thought to look in Sainsbury’s but I have found this better for my hair type than more widely-known brands.

FullSizeRender

White All Star Converse: I know I’m not one for fashion on here and I understand that these are pretty much a life favourite, for lots of people! I have been wearing these LOADS throughout August and after the trauma that was the heatwave- it has been glorious to tie up these beauties. Sandals come with a lots of extra stress, you need: nails perfectly painted, toes shaved and dry skin moisturised… none of this is needed for humble converse. It has been a lot cooler this month and that has made it perfect converse weather as they are a great ‘transitional’ shoe. The ‘white’, dirty grey, pair go perfectly with pretty much any summer outfit and I have LOVED them this month.

Mamma Mia 2: Here We Go Again Wow. This is my film of the year. Hands down. This will be a favourite for many months, if not years to come. Nothing has come close to this perfection in 2018 cinema for me. You HAVE to see this. OH, what joy it has brought me. Everything from the actual movie to the soundtrack has given me such happiness throughout August… and probably for many summers to come. I absolutely loved the first film and this one was the perfect follow-up. It captured the essence of family, music and laughter wonderfully… it also made the most winter-loving of girls enjoy summer.

Hopefully you have enjoyed reading this final monthly favourites of the summer months! This one hasn’t got the most summer-y of items because the weather has been slightly more Autumnal, which I have LOVED. I have a little blog update coming up on Monday where I share my plans for the new season and I honestly cannot wait to start writing about all the lovely Autumn-y bits that we will be loving soon. Thanks for the support on all the extra summer content, I really hope you enjoy these final few days of the holidays!
